Traveller Insurance

To coincide with the key holiday period, leading health and beauty retailer, Superdrug has teamed up with travel insurance specialist InsureandGo to launch a range of travel insurance in selected stores nationwide.

Travellers will be able to purchase their insurance by picking up a special leaflet in–store, visiting www.superdrug.com or by calling 0870 225 9160.

Each year thousands of holidays are spoilt when travellers fail to get adequate travel insurance before leaving home. InsureandGo's travel insurance combines quality with exceptional value for money, offering free insurance for children under 18 on all levels of cover and winter sports are included automatically in all its annual policies. In addition, unlike many travel insurers, InsureandGo's annual policies cover people up to age of 75 and there is no age limit on single trip policies.

For people with pre–existing medical conditions, such as diabetes and asthma, there is a full medical screening helpline, enabling travellers to talk through their trip in one quick and easy phone call – checking for these conditions may seem an obvious service but not all travel insurance providers offer this level of care.

In March, InsureandGo carried out its own research into travel agents – the biggest sellers of travel insurance in the UK – using independent mystery shoppers who visited branches of six national chains in 13 cities across the country. Not only did the research highlight the rip off prices charged across the board but 94 per cent of the travel agents visited, did not ask if the mystery shopper had any pre–existing medical conditions – a lapse that could lead to the cover being invalid should a claim be made.
