What gadgets do you provide cover for?

Our Gadget Insurance can cover any portable electronic devices, including mobile phones, iPhones, MP3 players, iPods, Sat Nav devices, portable games consoles, digital cameras and camcorders. Please note that our Gadget Insurance does not cover laptops or netbooks; please see our Computer Insurance products instead.

How many gadgets can I insure on my policy?

You can insure up to 10 items on your policy at a time. If you wish to insure more items, you will need to cover them under a separate policy.

Is there an age restriction for insuring my gadget(s)?

No, there is no age limit.

What is covered under my policy?

The cover provided by your policy depends on the level of cover you choose. Take a look at the table below to see the different levels of cover available and what they cover:

What are the terms and conditions?

How long does cover under my policy last?

Your policy covers your gadget(s) for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Who is the underwriter of this policy?

Your Gadget Insurance policy is underwritten by Amtrust International Limited, who is authorised and regulated by the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority and is licensed to operate in the United Kingdom by the Financial Services Authority.

What do I do if I need to make a claim on my policy?

If you need to make a claim on your policy, contact us on 0844 576 2253 within 48 hours of discovering the incident (or in the event of an incident occurring outside the UK, within 48 hours of returning to the UK).

We will send you a claim form which you will need to complete fully and return to us within 30 days of notifying the claim, along with any requested supporting documentation. We will assess your claim and, providing that your claim is valid, will authorise the repair or replacement of your product(s) as appropriate.

If I make a claim, will I need to pay an excess?

In the event of a claim on your policy, you will need to pay an excess of £25. If you purchase our Black level of cover, you will not be required to pay an excess in the event of a claim.

What are my cancellation rights?

In addition to your statutory right, you may cancel your policy at any time by giving us notice in writing or by phone. The cover will terminate as soon as your cancellation request is received. Please note that all cancellations outside of the statutory 14 day period will be subject to a £10 administration fee payable by you. If I travel abroad, are my gadgets covered?

Yes, your gadgets are covered worldwide for up to 90 days, depending on the level of cover you choose when you purchase your policy.

My mobile phone came free with my contract. Will my phone be covered up to its full retail value?

Yes, your mobile phone will be covered up to the maximum limit of the policy you choose.

Do you replace with new items?

In the event of a successful claim resulting in a replacement, we will replace the item with a new or refurbished unit.

How will I receive my claim?

We will either repair or replace your gadget for you. We do not offer cash.

What do you define accessories as?

Any accessory which was supplied as part of the original package as evidenced on the receipt/proof of purchase. For example, this includes, but is not limited to, in-car chargers, data cables, portable hands free kit, mains charger and carry case/bag.
