1500 students from around the world will join pop artist Romero Britto at The 02 to commemorate the return of Tutankhamun to London.
Artist Romero Britto will create a 45 ft pyramid inside The 02 with the help of his international cast of children.
Another 25 ft replica pyramid will be built outside as a preview, with a further 12 smaller 8ft pyramids will be placed around the nation's capital.
Schoolchildren will be drawn from the UK, France, Belgium, the US, and Egypt, and will paint panels that will be placed all round they pyramid.
Built in his studio in Miami, the pyramid will travel to London in October.
The treasures of Tutankhamun's tomb are travelling the world again and are set to arrive in London this November, 35 years after their first exhibition in 1972 'The treasures of Tutankhamun'.
The new exhibition, titled 'Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs' drew about three million people in its US run, according to its organisers and will arrive in London on November 15th.
Already, over 180,000 tickets have been reserved or sold, even though tickets will not go officially on sale until September 12th.
"The Pyramid Project is a fun and interactive way to educate children about ancient Egyptian civilisation and culture. Through this initiative, students will have the opportunity to embrace their inner artist and express their creativity, while leaving a lasting historical mark," said artist Romero Britto.
