Individuals have been warned of the dangers of drinking and driving and the impact which this practice can have upon a person's
car insurance premiums and their ability to get cover.
A spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers (ABI) said that anyone convicted of a drink-driving offence could see their car insurance premiums rise dramatically and in many cases, insurers will not want to offer cover.
The representative noted: "Obviously people who drink and drive are not only being antisocial but they are putting themselves, passengers and other people at very serious risk."
