Hotel provider somewheretostay has added interactive maps to a number of its destinations to help consumers locate their accommodation more easily prior to their holiday.
Users will be able to see the location of apartments, villas and hotels in relation to the facilities that are close by in 29 locations, including Italy, the Algarve, Spain and the Canary Islands.
General manager of the firm Kevin Currie told Travel Weekly: "It is often difficult for agents to find out the exact location of a private villa if in a rural location - now they can show the client on screen where it is."
He added that the new technology means that consumers will be able to see the distance between their accommodation and a resort's resort's nightlife, for example, which could give tourists a better idea of their surroundings before they arrive.
