A new hotel was recently opened in the Gambia as the country moves to compete in the global tourist market.
The Lemon Creek Hotel on the Kombo coastal road was officially inaugurated over the weekend by Angel Colley, the country's secretary for tourism and culture, reports the Daily Observer.
Ms Colley commented: "We must continuously strive to craft new products to meet the ever-changing tastes of discerning travellers and visitors to our beautiful country."
At a cost of 75 million dalasi (£1.9million), the facility currently comprises some 38 rooms and a further phase of development is expected to roughly double the size of the complex.
The Gambia is on the west coast of Africa and is the smallest country on the mainland of the continent.
