Discount supermarket chain Aldi will start selling four star holidays today, which may interest those looking to get holiday insurance and take a break to welcome in the new year.

According to the retailer, its deals could offer travellers discounts of up to 50 per cent.

Saving money on a trip means there is no excuse for people not to get travel insurance to make sure their break goes without a hitch.

Managing director of Aldi UK, Paul Foley, said that this year was a perfect time to start offering discounted holidays.

“I am more than confident. I think it couldn't be more perfect timing for us to do this," he said.

Holidaymakers will be able to choose from ten to 12 different holiday deals every two weeks.

Among the first set of holidays to be offered by the chain are city breaks to Prague, reports the Daily Mail.

InsureandGo can offer low cost holiday insurance for those looking to take a break to Prague or any other city.
