'Almost half' of UK travellers have claimed on travel insurance

Research from Trip Advisor has shown that almost half of British travellers have made a claim on their travel insurance, according to a report.

World First reports that 45 per cent of 3,700 people surveyed by Trip Advisor have had to make a claim, compared with 29 per cent of holidaymakers from other places.

Of those surveyed, 26 per cent said it look a long time to inform their insurance company of their claims and 22 per cent said they found it frustrating having to go through problems.

The amount of Brits who had been denied a payout on claim was 14 per cent.

In related news, the BBC has reported that seven out of ten young people in the UK want to live abroad. The survey of 560 students was conducted by PCP Research and found that the places the respondents most wanted to emigrate to were the US, Australia, Spain, Italy or France.
