Those with the Aries star sign are statistically the most likely group to be involved in a crash, according to moneysupermarket.com.

According to research published by the price comparison site, Arian drivers were to blame in nine per cent of vehicle collisions, a variance of 8.4 per cent above the national average.

Sagittarians on the other hand, were found to be responsible for just 7.5 per cent of crashes, putting them 9.6 per cent below the national average.

Peter Gerrard, head of insurance at moneysupermarket.com said: "Many of us are sceptical about star signs but it's interesting the number of at fault car crashes align with classic zodiac traits and also closely replicates last year's survey."

While rams topped the list, Virgos and Pisces followed closely and were both said to be responsible for 8.8 per cent of crashes.

The group concludes that regardless of star sign, causing a crash can result in people facing a ban and losing no-claims discounts on their car insurance.

Earlier this year, Elephant.co.uk suggested that those born in the Chinese year of the sheep are most likely to cause an accident while behind the wheel.
