A charity has given asthma sufferers advice on how to have a good time while on holiday.
Asthma UK said that Britons should not change their holiday plans if they have asthma, but should instead merely ensure they prepare well for seasonal changes which could trigger an attack.
The report highlighted the problem of increased physical activity while on holiday in hot and humid destinations instigating an asthma attack.
Erica Evans, specialist nurse at Asthma UK, said that holidaymakers should always try to "think ahead".
She said: "It would be helpful to take a written record of your medical condition and the proper names not just the trade names of any medication you are taking. Keep this with you at all times."
Ms Evans added that a management plan should be discussed with your doctor or asthma nurse before jetting off to ensure that your holiday is not ruined even if your asthma is affected.
"Make sure you take enough inhalers with you, including spares and a rescue steroid course as part of your management plan. You can't predict everything but forward planning is the key to a trouble free holiday," she advised.
