One of the downsides of being a self-styled celebrity was highlighted in recent research by
car insurance provider elephant.co.uk.
The firm compared the rates the so-called "celebrities" would have to pay in comparison to their everyday alter-egos.
Jade Goody would pay almost a quarter (22 per cent) more to insure her car than if she was Jade the dental nurse, while this year's Big Brother winner Brian Belo would pay some 40 per cent more than a data clerk living in the same circumstances.
"Celebrities have to pay more for things like insurance just because they are famous," managing director of the firm Brian Martin commented.
He noted that due to the possibility of other celebrities being in their cars, they are subject to higher premiums.
Jade Goody rose to fame on Big Brother in 2002 and appeared in last year's celebrity version of the show.
