The BBA will be able to put more focus on to Heathrow airport once the sales of Gatwick and Stansted have been completed, one travel expert has claimed.

Travel insurance is an essential purchase for those taking a trip, whether they fly from Heathrow or any other airport.

Head of corporate communications at Cheapflights.co.uk John Barrington-Carver said that the BBA will be able to "focus on improving services" at Heathrow.

BBA has been instructed to sell three airports within three years, after a ruling by the Competition Commission.

Gatwick will be sold first, followed by Stansted and then either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

A recent survey on airport experiences from the Civil Aviation Authority shows that air travel may be an easy and convenient way to get away.

In total, 87 per cent of passengers checked in their bags within 20 minutes of arriving at the airport, with half saying they had to wait less than five minutes.

As well as this, 67 per cent said they had experienced no delays with their flight.

Travel insurance from InsureandGo can cover a trip taken by air to destinations around the world.
