The landmarks of Bahrain should be used to promote the country's tourist sector.
Such is the opinion of Abdulhakim Al Shammary, former chairman of the tourism committee at the country's chamber of commerce, the Bahrain Tribune reports.
He told the publication that sites such as the country's world trade centre and financial harbour provided examples of locations that could be used for tourism purposes.
"The income generated from tourism in countries like France exceeds that of the income of small oil producing countries like Bahrain. There are around seven million tourists who visit the Eiffel Tower every year," he stated
Earlier this month, the publication reported that a water park in the region attracted some 8,000 visitors during the Eid holiday at the end of Ramadan.
