A Bahrain water park, Lost Paradise of Dilmun, attracted more than 8,000 visitors during the Eid holidays, it has been reported.
Such attractions form part of the country's strategy to double its gross domestic product from tourism in the next eight years, the Bahrain Tribune asserts.
General manager of the 77,000 sq m Lost Paradise of Dilmun, Paul Blunt, told the publication that the influx of tourists during the festive period went beyond the facility management's expectations.
"Having already recorded more than 10,000 guests during the opening week in September, we look forward to welcoming more visitors and making the water park the preferred family entertainment destination in the region," he added.
Eid is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of a month of fasting during Ramadan.
