While MI6 agent James Bond may struggle to find car insurance to cover the damage to his vehicles while on a mission, one of his best known cars has been voted the best movie motor ever.

The iconic Aston Martin DB5 - which was driver by Sean Connery in Goldfinger - has been voted as the number one car from the silver screen, with 28 per cent of film fans voting for it.

The poll to find people's favourite on-screen car was carried out by LoveFilm.

Coming in second was the Ford Mustang driven by Steve McQueen in Bullitt, which was voted for by 15 per cent of movie lovers.

Other recognisable vehicles in the top ten included KITT, the talking Pontiac Firebird Trans Am from 1980s show Knight Rider, as well as the Mini Cooper from the Italian Job and Herbie the Beetle.

Car insurance from InsureandGo can offer low-cost cover for any vehicle.
