Brits looking to book a break that leaves plenty of cash leftover for spending money, and essential travel insurance, could find that the favourable exchange rate in Brazil makes it an ideal place to visit.

According to author Romasa Storey, who wrote Live and Work in Brazil, the state of Rio is always a draw for British holidaymakers as its "intricacies" are nearby.

The region of Sao Cristovoa is also popular among tourists from the UK, she commented.

UK tourists wanting to visit the South American country could find February a good time to jet off, as this is when the famous four-day long Rio carnival takes place.

February is also the best time for sun seekers to visit Brazil, as this month is the height of summer in the country.

Fluctuating exchange rates have seen the pound weaken against the euro, which has led to some British tourists searching further afield for a low-cost holiday.

Holiday insurance from InsureandGo can provide cover for holidays to exotic destinations such as Brazil.
