The government has announced its intention to open the entire English coastline to the public, making areas previously enclose available.

Through the construction of a 2,500-mile pathway, the government hopes to make the coast accessible to all to walk and roam around freely.

It would result in beaches that were previously privately owned by either resorts or individuals to be partially open for a "right to roam".

This corridor around England was first proposed by Natural England in February of this year.

It was found that only about 50 per cent of the British coastline was open to the public to walk in, and that at times this forced passers by into perilous pathways.

Landowners and farmers are expected to oppose the £50 million project, as it might compromise some of the land they already own.

The pathway should be completed in about ten years, according to the Daily Telegraph.
