Most Europeans think that the British are the most aggressive drivers on the continent, according to new research.

A study by Eurocamp Independent found that more than 75 per cent of caravanners thought that British drivers were extremely aggressive.

Just one in 20 people said that German, French or Spanish drivers were hostile motorists.

Within the UK, European drivers find the M25 the most 'vicious' road in the UK, with the A1 also cited as full of aggressive drivers.

"It seems our European neighbours are much more accommodating when it comes to caravanners, reflecting their more relaxed approach to everyday life," said a spokesperson for Eurocamp Independent.

He explained: "The road networks on the continent, such as the German Autobahn, mean caravanners and motorists can travel side by side and not in competition."
