Many Britons are aggravated by the lack of free time they have at the weekend, American Express has indicated.
In a study examining causes of stress among UK residents, the financial services provider found that this was a top contributor for 29 per cent of people.
Meanwhile, for nearly a third (31 per cent) wasting time in traffic jams was a major cause of tension.
Ill-spent time was also stressful for the 16 per cent of people who felt they did not have enough time to arrange their social life because they spent too much time working.
Chris Rolland, head of American Express insurance services, commented: "For many hard working Britons there are simply not enough hours in the day and things that waste our time have a big impact on stress levels."
Earlier this month, the firm advised those who were heading off on holiday in the coming weeks to make sure they had adequate medical cover with a
travel insurance policy.
