Britons injured in Belgian coach crash

Four Britons were seriously injured when a British holiday coach crashed into the side of a house near Ostende, in Belgium.

The accident took place on Sunday morning, as the coach attempted to avoid collision with an incoming car and crashed into the side of a house instead, although investigations are ongoing as to the cause of the accident.

Three British holidaymakers and one driver were taken to the hospital immediately after the accident.

Two of the passengers had only minor injuries, although the third is expected to remain in hospital for up to a week.

One of the drivers had had part of his arm amputated, as reported by the BBC.

Two people in the house and two in the car were also slightly injured.

Run by Leger holidays, the coach carrying of 35 passengers was on the return path from a nine-day tour of Eastern Europe when the accident occurred.
