Adventure holidays and days out are set to become even more popular among Britons this year, according to new research.

A study undertaken by Mintel revealed that UK thrill-seekers will take more than one million 'experience' days out in 2007.

Most popular among those looking for a bit of adventure are driving days, rallying, go-karting and quad biking, according to the survey.

But 55 per cent of Brits also listed nature days, such as whale-spotting in the west coast of Scotland, as a desire of theirs.

Commenting on the research, senior leisure analyst Matt King said: "The desire to go on nature days out goes hand in hand with our increasingly 'urbanised' lifestyles and many people's subsequent desire to get back to nature.

"The rising interest in eco-tourism has also played its part in the popularity of these nature days."
