A new survey has uncovered the favourite beaches of British travellers, The Daily Mail has reported.

Conducted by YouGov and the Centre for Economics and Business Research, on behalf of Kelkoo, the poll named Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast as the top sandy spot amongst Brits.

Northern Tunisia ranked second on the list, while Sydney just scraped in at a disappointing number 20.

The research also examined the factors that most influenced holidaymakers when choosing a beach break destination.

Affordability was the top concern named by 85 per cent of those surveyed, while security and the weather were also

highlighted as important considerations.

Bruce Fair, of Kelkoo UK, commented, “In the current climate, British holidaymakers seem to be more cost conscious than ever.”

Cheap worldwide travel insurance is available from InsureandGo, and is ideal for cost conscious holidaymakers looking to explore the world’s best beaches.
