New research from esure has found that some British holidaymakers could be putting themselves at risk by going on active holidays without the right insurance.
According to the research, more than 1.8 million Brits are looking to go on skiing holidays during this winter but many are planning to travel without any
travel insuranceto try and cut back on the cost of their trip.
Nearly a fifth of those who were surveyed said they would not buy cover for their trip to save money but esure warns that this "false economy" could leave them out of pocket if they were to be involved in an accident while away.
The research also suggests that skiers and snowboarders are also changing some habits to try and reduce the amount of money their break costs, with more than 65 per cent saying they would consider shortening their trip to save money by going for a weekend break rather than a full week.
A Post Office survey has today revealed that Eastern European destinations give the best value for money for skiing breaks.
