An increasing number of Britons are seeking improved financial circumstances by moving abroad, it has been suggested.
In the newly published NatWest International Personal Banking Expat Wealth Ranking Survey, it is noted that for those who make the move abroad, they may indeed see a positive improvement in wealth.
Surveying British expats across a number of countries throughout the world, the study found that people could see a 43 per cent increase in salary if they moved overseas, with the average wage of those living abroad standing at £67,000.
However, the cost of living abroad was not found to be much different in some countries, with residents in the UAE responding that living was no cheaper.
David Isley, head of NatWest International Personal Banking, comments: "The wage packets of expats are very encouraging for people who are looking to move abroad."
According to Shelter Offshore, around five million Britons are currently living overseas.
