Many UK cruise-goers are planning to take a trip that is outside the norm in the year ahead, it has been claimed.
Jane Archer, a cruise expert speaking on behalf of The CRUISE Show, said people are becoming more adventurous in their choice of destination when cruising and want to sample the world outside the Mediterranean or the Caribbean.
She commented: "People are getting more adventurous but also you get more people who have cruised and are looking for somewhere away from the traditional places."
Ms Archer added the UK cruise market could double to more than ten million passengers per annum over the next decade.
According to a survey carried out at The CRUISE Show, the top ten of the world's greatest cruise destinations are Alaska, the Galapagos, the Arctic, Antarctic Peninsula, the Black Sea, St Petersburg, Venice, the Mediterranean, the Corinth Canal and the Middle East.
