Brits 'searching for adventure'

Brits planning on taking a thrill-seeking break this year could find that adventure insurance is a wise investment to cover their trip.

And with more Brits searching for adventure during the recession, this could apply to many UK holidaymakers.

Director of recently held event Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show Chris Gallon said that people were looking to be "adventurous rather than responsible" with their holidays at the moment.

Mr Gallon said that those who went to the travel show were prepared to do something "slightly out of the ordinary" which gave them a taste of local culture.

The results of a recent poll into long haul travel show that the Maldives was the top-selling far-flung destination last year.

Also popular with British travellers in 2008 were Thailand, Egypt and St Lucia.
