Brits spend less time taking in the culture of the country they are visiting while on holiday than other Europeans, a new study has shown.

Research carried out by travel review site TripAdvisor has shown that on average, Brits spend 17 minutes per day doing cultural activities while on holiday, compared to the Spanish who spend three hours 28 minutes on these pastimes.
"Getting to know what locally is more culturally interesting would be one way of shifting the focus from drinking to looking at cultural pursuits like visiting museums, taking in the local buildings and architecture," Luke Fredberg, a spokesperson for the organisation, commented.
According to a recent study carried out by Expedia, 45 per cent of those who take a holiday say they feel rested and rejuvenated when they come back to work.
Furthermore, 29 per cent claimed that doing so increased their productivity in and around the office.
