With the current economic climate affecting spending, many might think that Brits are reluctant to book travel insurance and take a holiday, but recent research suggests this may not be the case.

Figures from travel firm TUI Travel show that approximately 87 per cent of UK customers will go on an overseas break in 2009.

This figure is the same as the predictions made for 2008, showing that despite the crunch, Brits are still prepared to chase the summer sun.

TUI Travel has seen a rise in holiday bookings over the past month, noting that destinations including Egypt, the Dominican Republic and Mexico are becoming increasingly popular.

A couple of weeks ago, it was predicted by TUI that Egypt would be a popular destination this year, due to offering all-inclusive resorts and a decent exchange rate for British travellers.

Adventure insurance from InsureandGo could be a good choice for travellers looking to snorkel the famous Red Sea in Egypt.
