Most of the tourists from the UK who visit the Rhone-Alpes region choose to make the best of their travel insurance policy and go skiing.

According to figures from Rhone-Alpes Tourisme, Brits make up the biggest number of foreign tourists in the region.

In total 27 per cent of the hotels rooms booked in the region are occupied by Brits.

And between 70 and 80 per cent of those who visit do so to ski or take part in other outdoor activities.

Thrill-seeking Brits may want to check their travel insurance policy covers such activities - and they could even find an adventure insurance policy more suitable for their break.

Last year almost 150 million tourists visited the region, with around a fifth of these thought to be tourists from overseas.

Adventure insurance from InsureandGo covers 40 activities as standard and may be a wise investment for thrill-seeking travellers.
