A spokesperson for the Ski Club of Great Britain said that those looking to avoid exchange rate losses due to the strength of the euro at present have been advised to head to Bulgaria to find the most inexpensive deals.
Furthermore, anyone wishing to book a high season deal should do so sooner rather than later, the spokesperson advised.
She commented: "If they are going for lower season dates, they could wait a little bit longer but they are not going to get those rock bottom deals which they have become used to in the last few years."
According to ski company Erna Low, 45 per cent of those who wanted to take a ski holiday this year but were unable to, claimed that the impact of the recession was the single greatest factor in their decision.
