Bulgaria takes part in summit to discuss eco-tourism

Representatives of the state agency for tourism in Bulgaria have attended a conference for the Protected Areas Network (PAN) Foundation, it has been reported.

The conservation symposium was hosted by the country in the Rila Mountains and the topic for the events was Days of European Wild Nature, according to the Sofia Echo.

Other attendees included delegates from European countries with PAN parks, including Italy, Poland, Sweden and Russia.

According to the publication the main aim of the conference was to support the preservation of nature through the promotion of local attractions and products, such as indigenous flora and fauna.

Co-operation between countries with PAN parks was discussed, along with the creation and advertising of tourism products.

PAN Parks was founded by the World Wildlife Fund and tourism firm Molecaten.
