Individuals jetting off on business travel have been urged to ensure they get receipts for the expenses, or better still, to pay using plastic in order to keep an accurate record of costs.
Anyone heading overseas regularly might be interested in annual multi trip
travel insurance to help keep costs down. Norman Gage, director of business travel at Advantage Business Travel Centres, said that companies need to ensure they have a clear expenses policy in order to make it easier to keep track of costs.
"It is about personal discipline so if you are out on business and you go to a restaurant and get drinks, you always get a receipt. It makes life much easier when you are claiming," Mr Gage stated.
According to research compiled by the Guild of Travel Management Companies, business travel transaction figures during the first quarter of 2009 showed a six per cent reduction in comparison to the same period last year.
InsureandGo offers annual multi trip travel insurance for those looking to jet off on foreign travel on a regular basis.
