The Scottish Highlands' tourism industry could be boosted by butterflies, according to nature experts.

A set of workshops is being organised for those who work within the tourism sector in the area, to train them on how to advise tourists on the best places to see the insects.

According to Butterfly Conversation, who is running the initiative, around 24 species of butterfly live in the Cairngorms, making the area great for butterfly-watchers.

Species include the Red Admiral, the Pearl-bordered Fritillary and the Common Blue.

"This beautiful and colourful aspect of the area's natural heritage is often neglected as a vital resource to attract and retain visitors," a spokesperson for the conservation group told the BBC.

The training for those within the tourism industry will begin next month.
