Tourists are flocking to the United States' northerly neighbour of Canada, new data has revealed.
According to the Canadian Press, tourism spending in the country rose significantly in the second quarter of this year, by almost one per cent, compared to the same period the year before.
The rise represented the 16th quarterly increase in a row for Canada, as tourism is steadily growing ever higher.
Even Canadians are rediscovering their own country, spending 0.4 per cent more in their home country on holiday activities during the past year.
Canada is well known for its adventure holidays, from trekking in its famous national parks, to skiing during the winter and early spring.
Backpacker's favourite guide Lonely Planet recommends visiting the far north regions of the country during the summer of July and August for travellers who are avid campers.
Canada is also described by the guide as having a vibrant culture that can also attract the city-bound visitor, with a 'plethora of traditions brought by migrants.'
