A Honda Accord was stolen twice in Yakima County (Washington State) and both times the drivers were arrested - two lucky escapes for the owner in one day.
The car was spotted by police early on Monday morning while it raced another Honda Accord that had also been reported stolen.
Police decided to follow one of the cars once both split up, when the driver jumped off and attempted an escape.
He was chased on foot by a detective and caught after hiding in a nearby house.
While the arrest was taking place, another burglar stole the Honda Accord for the second time that day.
But he had not realised that it now had a flat tyre and was unable to go very far before he too was caught by police.
It made for a busy day for local officers and an unfortunate series of events for local car thieves.
The other stolen Honda Accord has yet to be tracked down.
