Drivers should take extra care when taking to the road in winter, to avoid a claim on their
car insurance.
Vehicle rental firm Europcar has warned drivers that they may find the ongoing cold snap in the UK could leave them with problems when they try and start their car.
According to the Auto Channel, marketing director of Europcar Catriona Lougher said that a recent survey had found people were reducing the amount they spent on car maintenance and servicing.
While people may find this cheaper in the short term, not having the right kind of car insurance could see motorists left out of pocket should an accident occur.
She told the Auto Channel: "The risk of bad weather means motorists should take added precautions; looking after their car and ensuring they have everything they need in case of an emergency breakdown."
