Anyone planning to take out
cheap travel insurance for a holiday abroad might like to consider the Caribbean as it remains a good destination for British holidaymakers, it has been claimed.
Ian Bradley, PR officer for the Association of Independent Tour Operators, said a clampdown on crime in the area and the excellent value for money which holidaymakers achieve in the Caribbean make the destination attractive to Brits.
He commented: "Somewhere like Barbados is normally very good because it attracts quite high-end clientele, similarly for St Lucia, safety is paramount to them as well."
According to the Caribbean Tourism Organisation, there has been an increase in the number of UK holidaymakers who are booking trips to the Caribbean for the coming 12 months.
Consumer sales manager at British Airways Simon Brooks noted early bookings for Caribbean trips have seen double digit growth so far in 2010.
