Brits looking for a cheap winter getaway might like to take out
ski insurance and head to Bulgaria, it has been noted.
Anthony Chenery, travel expert at Teletext Holidays, said the country is offering some great deals at present as many resorts are offering significant discounts in a bid to attract more tourists to the slopes.
"There are some resorts which, if you are really looking for cheaper package ski deals, you should look at - places like Bulgaria," he commented.
Mr Chenery added that the country could be great for less advanced skiers as many of the resorts are smaller than those you would find in places like France or Switzerland.
According to the Bulgarian National Statistics Institute, 31.4 per cent of all visitors to the country in December headed there to take part in recreational activities.
However, the overall number of visitors from abroad fell by 7.3 per cent last month in comparison to December 2008.
