Brits have been urged to take out
holiday insurance and take a trip to China to sample the fascinating cultural heritage of one of the oldest civilisations in the world.
John Warner, managing director of Gap Adventures, said Chinese cities offer a heady mix of old and new, but to really sample the culture, travellers should head further afield and out into the countryside.
He commented: "The Terracotta Warriors are becoming more and more well known now, although they still aren't as highly visited as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. I would highly recommend heading to Xi'an to see this fantastic site."
According to statistics from China's National Tourism Administration, China's tourism revenue rose 26.9 per cent to 64.62 billion yuan (£6.11 billion) during the Spring Festival.
The country received 125 million tourists during the holiday period from February 13th to 19th, up 14.8 per cent from the same period last year.
Brits planning a trip to China might like to take out comprehensive
travel insurance from
