The majority of consumers are satisfied with their long-term
life insurance policies, a new publication by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has claimed.
According to the Customer Impact Survey 2007-08, 85 per cent of respondents stated that they believed their
life insurance provider treated them fairly.
The survey also measured satisfaction levels in the pensions and investment industry and involved interviews with 20,000 customers and 32 companies. It is the second year that the study has been conducted.
Maggie Craig, the ABI's director of life and savings, said that consumer confidence had remained high despite a period of economic uncertainty.
"The results show that the insurance industry is making some progress in improving customer experiences," she added.
However, she also pointed out that it would take some time for the long-term trends in the industry to become fully apparent.
The survey follows a recent Manchester Evening News article by industry analyst Martin Hocking arguing that "
life insurance is a must" for those with a young family.
