The rising cost of owning a vehicle has highlighted the need for consumers to make savings on their
car insurance.
Responding to the decision by Alistair Darling to delay a petrol increase until October, advice site Insurance.co.uk asserts that while this is welcome news, for many, other ways to save on the costs of motoring will become increasingly important.
"The chancellor has offered temporary relief to motorists and this can only be welcome news. But for those who are already stretching to meet petrol prices, October will arrive all too quickly," the organisation states.
It advises consumers to search the market to find the most suitable insurance quote in order to save money on premiums.
Meanwhile, Tesco Compare has also called for a governmental review into the insurance regulation regarding environmentally-friendly vehicles.
The firm asserts that insurance premium tax on green vehicles should be abolished to encourage people to adopt such modes of transport.
