Couples make up the biggest group of travellers to the UK, according to Visit Britain.
Elliot Frisby from the organisation said that England is ideal for all kinds of traveller as it can offer history, culture and "quirky" traditions.
Last year, £57.9 million people in couples went on an overnight trip somewhere in the UK, with overnight visitors spending £4.4 billion in 2007.
An approximate 25.45 million visitors went to London last year, mostly from overseas.
In related news, hundreds of travellers who were stranded after an airline collapsed will make their way home today, according to the Sun.
Zoom airlines filed bankruptcy, blaming rising oil prices, reports the newspaper.
Planes were grounded in places such as Glasgow and Calgary in Canada.
The newspaper also reports that tour operator XL is to cancel all Caribbean flights this winter as the increase in fuel prices "means the flights are no longer viable"
