While some of England's cricket players have been in hot water of late, trade associations and government departments have advised travelling fans to check their
travel insurance to make sure they don't land in any trouble themselves.
The British Insurance Brokers Association (Biba) has warned cricket fans flying off for a spot of sun in the West Indies that insurance bought from a tour operator might not offer adequate cover.
For example, the majority of policies do not offer cover against terrorist attacks - something that has come under criticism from MPs in recent weeks.
Biba chief executive Eric Galbraith told the Sun: "I strongly urge all fans to check their travel insurance policies before heading to the West Indies for the Cricket World Cup."
He added: "Consumers need to ensure they don't get caught out by inappropriate cover. We have been campaigning for months to ensure that travel agents and tour operators are fully regulated by the FSA [Financial Services Authority], and we will continue this work to ensure that all consumers are treated fairly."
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has also urged travelling cricket fans to check their insurance cover.
