Cruise lovers looking to get travel insurance and sail away to warmer spots could take a trip aboard the new Queen Mary 2 (QM2) ship.

Travel writer Simon Williams writes in the Telegraph that he was "smitten" with the boat, which he says has spectacular public areas.

Mr Williams says that despite a 35 year "love affair" with the famous QE2 cruise liner, he was impressed when he took a trip on the QM2.

Those taking a trip of a lifetime on a cruise could find that single trip insurance is the best way for them to get cover at a low cost.

On board the boat, Mr Williams stayed in the Queen Anne Royal Suite, which he said was subtly decorated and "ludicrously comfortable".

Holidaymakers aboard the boat can enjoy a huge variety of activities, from darts to cookery lessons.

The QE2 retired from the seas this year and is set to become a floating hotel in Dubai.

Older travellers who want to take it easy on a cruise holiday could find that over 65s insurance from InsureandGo offers cheap cover for the mature holidaymakers.
