The potential for cruising in Asia is "enormous" and this could lead to more people taking out
holiday insurance and heading off for a trip to the continent in the years ahead, it has been claimed.
Carolyn Spencer Brown, editor in chief at Cruise Critic, said more people are likely to want to travel to Asia over the coming years as destinations like Vietnam, China, Japan and Malaysia all offer stunning scenery and excellent value to tourists.
She commented: "Asia has enormous potential to be a huge cruise destination. [But] for most travellers, it's an intimidating region to visit."
However, this could be about to change as Asia is all set to be the cruise industry's next big thing.
According to figures from the Passenger Shipping Association, the value of UK cruising looks set to break all records this year.
The organisation predicted an increase of 6.5 per cent in the number of Brits choosing to cruise in 2010 to 1.65 million people.
InsureandGo offers holiday insurance for Brits planning a cruise this year.
