The idea of a cruise could conjure up images of older holidaymakers getting
travel insurance and sailing off, but "increasing diversity" in the sector could change this.
The rising choice available in the cruise industry could mean that there is a cruise out there for anyone with
holiday insurance.
According to the Passenger Shipping Association (PSA), the range of such holidays on offer is "extremely large".
"You can go from a 79 passenger cruise ship, which is very small and very luxurious ... to the 'resort style' ships, which can accommodate up to around 5,400 passengers," commented Penny Guy, PSA spokeswoman.
A wide variety of destinations are also on offer for those who want to sail into the sunset and see the world.
Ms Guy notes that there are cruises for people who want to see the Amazon rainforest, or Antarctica and the Northern Lights.
InsureandGo can offer a wide range of holiday insurance for cruise lovers, including
over 65s insurance for the more mature traveller.
