Some two million people are expected to have visited Cuba by the end of 2007, it was announced in recent days.

Maria Elena Lopez, vice-minister of tourism, stated that the country has great beaches and a wide range of flora and fauna, adding that the culture and history of many sites is admired by visitors.

She made the comments at the 18th French Association Travel Agency Congress in the city of Holguin, where she noted that this would be the fourth successive year that the country will benefit from visits from more than two million tourists.

Upcoming events in Cuba include the Trinidad Way of the Cross Procession, Havana Jazz Festival and the International Hemingway Fishing Tournament.
