Cyprus has become one of the world's most popular tourist destinations, Love Cyprus has suggested.
According to the tourism adviser, the country has built on its long-standing reputation for providing excellent holiday facilities and has attracted large visitor numbers from Europe and further afield.
"It has coped with modernisation well and caters for the wide and demanding demographic market, providing an array of services and amenities for all markets as well as niche markets," commented Marios Christodoulou, a spokesperson for Love Cyprus.
He went on to state that ongoing development on the island is only helping to spur further tourism, with many activity-based amenities now on offer.
Celebrity interest in the island has also helped to boost overall visitor numbers, he concluded.
According to official figures, the Republic of Cyprus now employs 35,000 people in the tourism sector, representing 13.2 per cent of the total workforce.
