To get the most out of a holiday, travellers should look to stay away from technology such as phones and laptops while abroad in order to disconnect from their office life, More Than has claimed.

According to the financial services provider, Britons work the longest hours in Europe and often find it difficult to be away from the office for too long.

However, Carmel McCarthy, PR manager for the company, said that by keeping their contact with their employer to a minimum, they will be able to relax and enjoy the time abroad.

"If you can walk away from your job, try and do so. It's really important to get those two or three week breaks in," she said.

Recent research carried out by More Than has found that interruption from work was the biggest source of stress for holidaying Britons, with modern technology being blamed for the disruption.

Such devices were said to have ruined summer breaks for 37 per cent of people questioned.

InsureandGo offers no-hassle travel insurance options for those looking to get away from it all.
