A US resident was a helpless witness to his pet Labrador's first and failed attempt at driving, as the car ended in a river.
Having parked his car near the Pend Oreille River in Idaho, owner Mark Ewing was returning from picking up a pizza to see his Chevy Impala careering towards the water.
The owner was also in time to see the culprit, his pet dog Charlie, make a timely escape before the car found itself in troubled waters.
Charlie likely jumped into the car through an open window and managed to accidentally put the vehicle into gear.
"He somehow got the car into neutral. My car just went boom, down an incline and into the drink," reported Mr Ewing to the Associated Press.
"There's nothing weirder than looking at your car cruising down your driveway when you're not in it and seeing your dog jump out and then watching your car go splash," he added.
